以扫说,兄弟阿,我的已经够了,你的仍归你吧。
And Esau said, I have enough, my brother; keep that thou hast unto thyself.
雅各说,不然,我若在你眼前蒙恩,就求你从我手里收下这礼物。因为我见了你的面,如同见了神的面,并且你容纳了我。
And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me.
求你收下我带来给你的礼物。因为神恩待我,使我充足。雅各再三地求他,他才收下了。
Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it.
以扫说,我们可以起身前往,我在你前头走。
And he said, Let us take our journey, and let us go, and I will go before thee.
雅各对他说,我主知道孩子们年幼娇嫩,牛羊也正在乳养的时候,若是催赶一天,群畜都必死了。
And he said unto him, My lord knoweth that the children are tender, and the flocks and herds with young are with me: and if men should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die.
求我主在仆人前头走,我要量着在我面前群畜和孩子的力量慢慢地前行,直走到西珥我主那里。
Let my lord, I pray thee, pass over before his servant: and I will lead on softly, according as the cattle that goeth before me and the children be able to endure, until I come unto my lord unto Seir.
百姓听见这凶信就悲哀,也没有人佩戴妆饰。
And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments.
耶和华对摩西说,你告诉以色列人说,耶和华说,你们是硬着颈项的百姓,我若一霎时临到你们中间,必灭绝你们。现在你们要把身上的妆饰摘下来,使我可以知道怎样待你们。
For the LORD had said unto Moses, Say unto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffnecked people: I will come up into the midst of thee in a moment, and consume thee: therefore now put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do unto thee.
以色列人从住何烈山以后,就把身上的妆饰摘得乾净。
And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments by the mount Horeb.
摩西对耶和华说,你吩咐我说,将这百姓领上去,却没有叫我知道你要打发谁与我同去,只说,我按你的名认识你,你在我眼前也蒙了恩。
And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.
